Source Policy
We prefer primary research, authoritative public agencies, current official labels, official manufacturer records and verified certification databases. Merchant pages are used carefully for price and availability snapshots.
Our commitments
- Every material fact should have provenance.
- Retrieval and review dates are preserved.
- Unsupported manufacturer statements are labeled as claims, not facts.
Source hierarchy
We prioritize authoritative public agencies, primary research and systematic evidence, current official labels, official manufacturer records and traceable certification databases. Merchant pages are primarily price and availability sources.
Source records
Material facts should retain a URL or record identifier, publisher, retrieval date, review date and the exact claim supported. Broken, stale or conflicting sources remain visible to editors until resolved.
Claims are not facts
Manufacturer language is labeled as a claim unless independently supported. “Third-party tested” earns no score credit without a traceable record that identifies scope, product and date.
Effective date: September 1, 2026. Review cycle: at least annually or after a material policy change.
